Mets vs. Braves MLB Pick – August 15th

The Braves’ bullpen prefer to make things interesting which was yet again the situation Wednesday night. After establishing a 6-2 lead in the 7th inning, the Braves nearly blew another lead from the 9th. It was only on Saturday the Braves were winners after moving to the bottom of the 9th with a 6-2 lead. This time, however, that the Braves managed to hold on and secure a 6-4 win.
It was not easy and Mark Melancon made matters tense with all the bases loaded and only 1 out. Despite getting into trouble, Brian Snitker stuck with Melancon and he managed to escape the jam. Melancon is listed as the Braves’ closer after rookie Shane Greene. However, if Melancon proceeds to load up the bases such as that, then Greene is going to have another chance to seize the moment.
If the Braves wish to get success at the postseason, there is not much secret regarding what must change. From the looks of this, they’re going to be relying heavily on normal date starters from the bullpen who didn’t make the postseason rotation. As they hold on a cause the division the NL East crown is within reach. Washington have been playing well lately, so they’ve managed to hold their own, but trading wins isn’t likely to help with respect into the NL East.
The Nats are also battling for a wildcard, which they are currently in possession of. Thursday is shaping up to be a nice starting pitching matchup involving Marcus Stroman and Julio Teheran. Stroman is still searching for a standout performance together with the Mets. This will be his third outing of his career as a Met. Head under for our complimentary Mets vs. Braves pick.

The Mets will be searching for much more from Marcus Stroman down the stretch. He hasn’t helped much so far and hasn’t made the Mets seem too bright moving after him. Yeah, the Mets went to a monster 16-1 run, but has nothing to do with all the Stroman deal. In any event, the Mets have won of Stroman’s begins. He might have thrown better, though.
Between his first two outings with the Mets, Stroman has submitted an ERA of all 6.10 in 10.1 innings of work. He allowed seven earned conducts, along with 16 hits and 5 walks in these innings. So, while Stroman gets a free pass so far, particularly following the Mets won both matches, he needs to be greater than this to create the trade worthwhile. The Braves are hitting .280 using a .337 OBP against Stroman from 82 at-bats. On the opposite side, the Mets have a very long history against Teheran within his career.
The Mets will eclipse 400 at-bats contrary to Teheran in this contest. Back in 399 at-bats, they hit .216 with 10 home runs. Getting to Teheran in the home has not been easy for visiting teams. Teheran possesses an ERA of 2.52 in 60.2 innings of chunk in Atlanta. He’s yielded only 5 long balls in the home in 2019 as well. Be aware that Teheran has enabled two or less runs in seven of the past outings, and hasn’t given up more than 3 runs since June 24th against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
In his most recent look against the Mets, the Braves were champions with a score of 5-4. We’re seeing what is happening to the Mets today that they must play with a winning group. During their 15-1 run, the only team they beat having a list more than .500 were the Nationals, who they ultimately had their winning streak snapped against. Teheran and the Braves seem like the perfect side here for a second win on the Mets.
