The Braves’ bullpen prefer to make matters interesting which was again the case Wednesday night. After establishing a 6-2 lead in the 7th inning, the Braves nearly blew another lead from the 9th. It was only on Saturday the Braves were winners after moving into the bottom of the 9th with a 6-2 lead. This time, though, the Braves were able to continue and protected a 6-4 win.
It wasn’t simple and Mark Melancon made things tense with the bases loaded and 1 out. Despite getting in to difficulty, Brian Snitker stuck with Melancon and that he was able to get out of the jam. Melancon is listed as the Braves’ closer after rookie Shane Greene. However, if Melancon continues to load the bases such as that, then Greene will have another opportunity to grab the moment.
When the Braves need to have success at the postseason, there is not much secret regarding what has to change. By the looks of it, they’re going to be relying heavily on everyday date starters out of the bullpen who didn’t make the postseason rotation. Since they hold onto a 6-game cause the branch Even the NL East crown is within reach. The Mets will probably be looking for more from Marcus Stroman down the stretch. He has not helped much so far and has not produced the Mets look too glowing going after him. The Mets went to a monster 16-1 conduct, but has nothing to do with the Stroman deal. In any event, the Mets have won of Stroman’s starts. He might have pitched better, however.
Between his first two excursions with the Mets, Stroman has posted an ERA of all both 6.10 in 10.1 innings of work. He let 7 earned runs, together with 16 hits and 5 walks in those innings. Therefore, while Stroman gets a free pass thus far, especially after the Mets won both games, he must be better than that to produce the trade worth it. The Braves are hitting .280 with a .337 OBP against Stroman at 82 at-bats. On the opposite side, the Mets have a long history against Teheran within his career.
The Mets will eclipse 400 at-bats against Teheran in this contest. They hit .216 together with 10 home runs. Getting to Teheran at home has not been easy for visiting groups. Teheran possesses an ERA of 2.52 at 60.2 innings of chunk in Atlanta. He’s yielded just 5 long balls at home in 2019 as well. Be aware that Teheran has allowed 2 or less runs in seven of his last outings, also has not given up more than 3 runs since June 24th from the Cubs in Wrigley Field.
In his most recent appearance from the Mets, the Braves were winners by a score of 5-4. We’re seeing what’s happening to the Mets today that they must play with a winning group. Throughout their 15-1 run, the only team they beat with a list greater than .500 were the Nationals, that they ultimately had their winning streak snapped against. Teheran and the Braves look just like the perfect side here for another win over the Mets.
