The EFL has agreed to discuss the subject of Bury’s potential.
The Shakers were expelled dropping their position in League One, later C&N Sporting Risk pulled from a proposed takeover of the team.
There are forecasts for the body to reconsider its decision, with the alternate option being the team are re-admitted to League Two for its 2020/21 season.
An EFL statement released on Tuesday has said the organisation will consult with the 71 clubs in the coming weeks concerning the situation of Bury.
There’s not any precedent for a team to get into the EFL directly via an application for admission or readmission after withdrawal of membership using this type of»complicated scenario that raises questions of due process, precedent and fairness as well as financial implications».
But it goes on to state such a move would be dependent on»clear signs being required of the club’s financial viability and its capacity to satisfy its continuing obligations».
Bury insist that a 7m takeover bid by a different celebration had been filed on August 27 before the deadline that is second.
The club’s general manager Scott Johnson said after Tuesday’s announcement:»We believe this is common sense. We think that it’s quite positive and we welcome that information.
«What we will do now is prepare and move forward and assist Bury Football Club’s application to the Football Association.
«When we were relegated to League 2 we would obviously still possess the soccer league standing and my perception is that among the buyers could still be prepare to purchase the club.»
«Obviously, if we are re-admitted it does establish a precedent, not only for Bury Football Club however any other club which does get into issue
«Soccer is quite reciprocal, you can get promoted or relegated and drop into issues and it’s necessary that everybody is cared from the football family moving ahead.»
Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation after the club’s expulsion from the EFL.
In a short statement, the Greater Manchester force said:»On 18 June 2019, police received a report of fraud between Bury Football Club. No arrests are made and they’re continuing.»
Sky Sports News knows that this investigation is not in regard to the Bury owner Steve Dale.
That report was made prior to Dale attained a company voluntary arrangement with the creditors of all the club to repay 25 per cent of their 9m they were owed.
But this deal depended on the team being permitted to play this year, something the English Soccer League, worried about Dale’s capacity to fund those debts and the team prices, refused to sanction.
This resulted in Dale missing a few deadlines to either prove he can meet his obligations sell the team to somebody who could. The EFL ran out of inspiration Tuesday and expelled in the league.
No arrests have been made so far.
