Last week, NASCAR hosted its largest event of the year in the Daytona 500, and it was about as unpredictable as one can expect.Denny Hamlin, a guy known as a king of the restrictor-plate races, took home the triumph as a massive crash pumped out a massive portion of the field down the stretch.
As intermediate racing begins, this week in Atlanta Motor Speedway, there will be kings on the track.
Kevin Harvick is the clear favored at 4/1 chances with just two career wins over the trail and eight top-10 finishes in his last 10 races there. Kyle Busch and Joey Logano both have 6/1 odds, while Busch has two wins at AMS and five top 10s in his last 10 races. Logano has four top-10 finishes, although no wins.
And while Martin Truex Jr. and Brad Keselowski may get lost in the shuffle, they are more than powerful in Georgia.
This week who wins? Kyle Larson is due for a win, although it might be foolish to pick against Harvick. The 26-year-old went without a win last season, but Atlanta would be the place for him. Larson includes another place finish in five career races at AMS and three top-10 finishes.
The QuikTrip 500 could be viewed Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on FOX.
