In perhaps the news of this year UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov is injured again. Based on reports, Nurmagomedov was made to pull from his forthcoming Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale co-headlining bout against Tony Ferguson because of a rib injury. As of now, nothing is set in stone, although there are talks of Edson Barboza stepping in to replace him. This makes it the third right fight Nurmagomedov has not been able to determine completion. It began with a planned UFC 178 fight against Donald Cerrone that»The Eagle» was forced out of after a knee injury. He reaggravated the knee when the bout was rescheduled for UFC 187 and he’s out of the December fight. Nurmagomedov hasn’t fought at April of 2014 because a unanimous decision victory over Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos. Depending on how long it takes for him to recover from this rib blow off, he could be on a yearlong break before he sees the Octagon . Ross Pearson vs. Francisco Trinaldo — UFC Fight Night 81 While one UFC bout was cancelled, another was announced as recent winners Ross Pearson and Francisco Trinaldo have been supposed to throw down in Boston this upcoming January. Pearson was successful in his last bout over Paul Felder via unanimous conclusion despite being a hefty underdog. Trinaldo did exactly the exact same thing, winning through round TKO Chad Laprise as a massive dog. This is a fight that is pretty evenly matched, however, Trinaldo has more momentum. The Brazilian has won four consecutive spells and is coming from the best success of his career while Pearson has been not able to string any wins together in his last eight fights. Even though Pearson has more name recognition, it would not surprise me to view Trinaldo open as the slight betting popular this time around due to his current string of success.
