Rangers manager Steven Gerrard have to wait to find out how long Ryan Kent will be out of action after he was injured during their 3-1 win at home to Livingston.
Kent, who joined the Gers from Liverpool on transfer deadline day in a deal worth around #7.5m, impressed on loan at Ibrox last season and was called PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year.
But he lasted 41 minutes to be replaced.
The 22-year-old looks set to miss the Scottish Premiership game with St Johnstone on September 22, as well as Thursday’s Europa League game with Feyenoord.
Kent will be evaluated at the week and Gerrard admitted his absence will be a blow.
«He has a hamstring [difficulty ] and we’ll take a look at that at the coming days and see how awful it is,» Gerrard said later they arrived out of an goal-down to beat Livingston.
«Hopefully it’s not as bad, hopefully it is OK and it’s not an extremely serious one. We will know in a few days.
«It’s a blow for us – we needed it to be all about Ryan now but it wasn’t to be. But we’ve got enough bodies and enough ability to deal without him.»
Despite losing Kent through trauma, Gerrard had been pleased with the donation.
«The plan was always for Ryan to head 60 and Brandon to go 30, and that I set it on all my match-winners at half-time and said’go-on – move and win us the football match’he informed the Rangers website.
«I thought Brandon did very well and took his goal very well, and I will do his confidence great. Hopefully he can build that.»
