Arsene Wenger says he has turned down offers to handle from the Premier League because hestoo connected to Arsenal.
The Frenchman, who turns 70 this month, left his role as director of the Gunners at May 2018 after 22 years at the club.
Hes yet to pick his next move, however, told.
Im an Arsenal person and following that I am a professional. I can not stop functioning, said Wenger.
I chose to move from the Premier League since Im too linked with Arsenal. I had chances but I turned them down.
I do not want to inform you [which clubs] because there are people responsible and it would unfair to them
Wenger guided Arsenal into the top four of the Premier League – and therefore the Champions League – for 20 successive seasons, but his reign at the Emirates stopped after the Gunners final fifth and then sixth in his final two seasons in charge.
Wenger was keen to defend his own record, stating:I am aware that it is normal that people always need more. We won a lot and we assembled the [Emirates] stadium.
Its difficult to explain the situation where we built the scene because the turnovers now have been multiplied by five.
When we chose to create the stadium, we had a turnover of #90m and the stadium was 430m. Then the stress is actually there and I think to come out of that period in a really healthy position was a small bit of a wonder.
The next move of wenger can find him leave management and take a job with FIFA, and he says hell decide whether to take the job in the not too distant future.
Its chief of football development in the entire world and this decision will be made very soon, he explained. They look for men and women who have enormous experience and understanding of the game whove learned a lot
